One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and would never leave you, During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints....it was then that I carried you."

God opened a door for me, When my way I could not see. It seemed that I was against a solid wall And couldn't find my way at all. Then God reached down from on high And swang the door open wide; Beckoning me saying, "Come on through," "I'll show you what I want you to do." I knew there was an opening somewhere; And God showed it to me because He cared. He didn't want me to be at a standstill; But striving to do His perfect will. I can now see the light shining through that open door. Lord, help me work for You, not stumbling anymore As I walked through the door with God leading me, He showed me many souls who need to be made free.

Out on the waters so dark is the night The angry waves toss my ship about. But someone is approaching; I see a light. Someone is coming to help me out.Suddenly the waves toss no more; But so gently start flowing along. And my eyes look upon a beautiful shore. Oh, I can feel a presence so strong. As that presence draws me so nigh A quiet calmness settles over me; For someone is walking on the waters tonight. Oh, yes, It's the Master of the sea.
